A Stitch in Time
Like many nonyas of their generation, both my grannies were good in embroidery as well as sewing and made their own kebayas themselves. Mum wasn't keen on it and was more interested in cross stitch so I grew up watching her sitting there regularly with her needle in her hand deftly stitching out colourful pictures.
