Little Things of Joy

Have you ever tried hanpen cheese? Tsuruya (i Avenue, E Gate) and Aji Noren (Prima Tanjung) make the best ones ever. Don't scoff at the idea of breaded fish cakes stuffed with cheese and deep fried. These are so yummylicious, I could eat a whole plate of them at a single sitting.

Part of the reason why I stepped into MieleYo was because of the cutesiness. The frozen yogurt was decent though they only had 3 flavours: plain, peach (this is good!) and tangerine (flavour of the month). Before I could even snap a pic, Bubs decided I was taking too long and licked the top! The price is quite reasonable though you could argue that because it's not priced based on weight (a popular concept with frozen yoghurt stores here), the toppings are all kept behind the counter and the wait staff will add the toppings for you.

Getting giggles from Bubs. He was fascinated when I drew an eyeliner tattoo on his arm and tried to lick it! He surprised us by shouting "ang pow" when we showed him all the red packets he'd received. He was contented to play with them, bouncing up and down the bed as he scattered them all over.

Jason Wu for Target Frenzy

Just 1 more day til the Jason Wu for Target launch and there's already a huge frenzy about it. Some of the pieces are already on Ebay for inflated prices. The pieces are all so feminine and retro, massive love!

Missoni for Target and a Lion Dance

Ebay has been good to me. My heart gets all fluttery whenever I see pretty things on it and my fingers itch to click the bid button.

This Missoni for Target skirt was a recent found and I love its cheery print. Hubs asked why on earth was I wearing a poncho wrapped around my waist. Hmmmph. Men clearly do not appreciate the wonder that is chevron.

I was thrilled when I found 2 of my favourite things together: a lion dance inside Charles & Keith at Gurney Plaza. They danced outside the store then went in, pranced around the shoes (see, even the lions recognized how gorgeous Charles & Keith shoes are), either peeled/ate (debatable) oranges at the cashier before exiting to eat the traditional chai (lettuce) hung on the entrance of the store.

I didn't realised that the lions went everywhere. I went to Topshop and the lions were there dancing, they even slowed down a bit to let some of the sales staff pet their rump! As I walked around Gurney Plaza, I kept hearing the clashing of cymbals and the thumping of the drums. I found the lions again inside Parkson, going from counter to counter. When I was on the 2nd floor, trying on clothes at French Connection, the lions were there. When I went to the counter on the 3rd floor to pay for Bubs baby wash. they were there again! It seemed as though I was stalking the lions or they were stalking me :)

Of course I took this as a good sign that you should shop, shop, shop. Hubs jaw dropped when he saw me carrying tons of paper bags back and said it's dangerous to leave me alone in a mall for a few minutes.

Can you tell that I love prints at the moment?

We're Going on a Picnic

Bubs loves the Mother Garden picnic set, wicker basket and all. Initially Dad scoffed at the idea of getting him a masak masak toy but I was tickled pink to find the both of them having fun with it. Bubs is a bit young to do much of imaginative playing but he had fun pulling apart the toys from their velcro, pretending to feed us from the wooden bottle of milk and a bit of hand eye coordination from trying to stick the strawberry skewers into the cocktail sausages!

New Dresses

I went a bit overboard this round by buying 6 dresses and keeping them until Chinese New Year week :) You've already seen half of them from the CNY postings, these are the remaining ones:

When I tried it on at Topshop, the dress was definitely longer - it either shrank in the wash or I gained weight since December! Not a huge fan of black dresses but loved the cut of it so I accessorised it with a green beaded necklace thrifted from Mum's drawers.

This lace bonded pencil dress is also from Topshop and what I loved about it was that it gave me a waist. Topshop has been filled with all kinds of lovely dresses in December which hasn't been exactly kind to my bank account.
Ok, this royal blue tunic was supposed to be a short dress and again, either it shrank to the point of no return or I packed on pounds because when I wore it over the weekend, it was too skanky that I'd to wear black leggings under it and turned the mini dress into a tunic. I wore this for breakfast with Glam Girl, she always looks so glamourous and pretty no matter where she's headed to.
